Surgical Mask Pattern & Info

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

For those that would like to make surgical masks to help medical personnel and high risk people, here are the details: Download the pattern here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aRimWOhDivuDbTf-X6r44cTKuQhxN7wV/view?usp=drivesdk The pattern has a pocket to insert a cut to fit filter. Using a 25×25×1 air conditioner filter (be sure to buy the kind that filters virus and bacteria particles like in the link below), you can get about 50 feet worth of filter. ***

Update 4/4: 3M has come out and said not to use the air filters because that's not what they're made for, so do your own research. I included a link to Activated Charcoal Filters as an alternative. It also uses pipe cleaners and elastic.

Be sure to make it short on the sides so that when you wear it, it stays tucked in under your chin. If it’s made too tall on the sides it doesn’t secure around your chin properly.

I did find some elastic on Amazon but none shipped Prime. Earliest delivery date was around 4/10. https://amzn.to/2w0VL19

Thank you Sandi, for all this info! *Affiliate links. Purchasing through these links helps HCS. There is no additional cost to you but you do help the school by using them. :)
