However, I have had a career in this field since my son was injured at two years old. So, in my experience: *Manipulatives and videos retain concepts better than only reading or writing. *Short, colorful assignments draw interest and retainment. *Daily spiral reviews are an absolute requirement in grammar and math. *With short term memory loss, a concept must be repeated for 30 consecutive days before it is retained. *Fine motor skills can be regained by playing an instrument. *Social and life skills are the last goals to achieve. *Keep goals small. Just keep moving forward each year. Praise God for every tiny victory!
